For over 50 years, the Voice of Prophecy has been waiting to do something very powerful.
You see, at one point in its history, the ministry developed a series of Bible lessons for young readers—those 5 to 7 years of age. The lessons were well received, but eventually went out of print.
That was over 50 years ago. Since that time, people have asked us time and again if we had anything for younger kids. Sadly, we’ve had to tell them no.
Yet God has placed it on our hearts to do something for this group of kids—and now, we’re pleased to say we’re finally in a position to do so. We’re creating a brand-new eight-lesson series for primary-aged kids!
But wait until you hear how these lessons began . . .
Twenty years ago, longtime Voice of Prophecy music evangelist Del Delker stopped by the office of our Bible School director, Kurt Johnson. Del was then around 80 years old and had been considering how she might leave a financial legacy at the ministry she loved.
“Kurt, if I were to leave you some money, would you save it for a set of lessons for kids?” she asked.
He assured her he would. Del proceeded to write a check, the first of several she made to support the development of children's Bible study resources.
Really, we shouldn’t have been surprised—Del Delker always had a heart for children. Although she never had any of her own, she loved the time she spent singing with and for kids. Several of her albums were created for younger listeners.
Over the years, some of Del's money was used to develop the KidZone lessons for kids 8-13 of age, and over the years others have added their funds to support children's Bible study. Today, the Voice of Prophecy is in a unique position to develop Bible lessons for young readers that will pass the test of time, but we need your help.
Del’s dream was that thousands of young people would learn to love Jesus by studying the Bible for themselves. And today, YOU can help make that dream a reality! We’ve been working with an accomplished children’s writer to create the manuscript for the lessons, but editing, designing, and printing the lessons has yet to take place.
Though Del’s gift planted the seed money for this project, we still need more. Developing eye-catching, relevant Bible lessons isn’t cheap. This Giving Tuesday, our goal is to raise $10,000 to help make Del’s dream a reality.
Children all around us need to learn more about how much Jesus loves them and has a plan for them. Please help us reach them by supporting the Voice of Prophecy this Giving Tuesday.
