More Than Entertainment
A God-Given Role
Last year an enthusiastic young voice actor named Courtney joined our Discovery Mountain team to play Charlotte, a key role in Season 18. In the story, Charlotte's beloved grandmother dies, which opens the way for conversations about death, grief, and the hope of the resurrection. Courtney's normally a happy child, so the role was a challenge for her—but she ended up doing a great job!
TRAGEDY AT HOME
Just a few months after recording her episodes for Discovery Mountain, Courtney’s family experienced their own tragic loss.
One evening after school, Courtney’s parents told her and her sister that their dear grandpa had died unexpectedly. The whole family cried together. A heavy cloud seemed to hover over the house. It was hard to believe that he was gone, and hard to deal with the emotions that followed.
But Courtney remembered the story of Charlotte, and like her character, she discovered God's care for her in a very real way.
Courtney’s family was amazed that God had gifted Courtney with a role dealing with grief and loss just before her own unexpected loss.
“God knew what was coming down the road,” reflects Courtney’s grandmother. “He puts situations in our lives like this Discovery Mountain experience to help prepare us to deal with it.”
She’s right. What a good God we serve! He gives us everything we need.

Making the decision to share Jesus is often not as easy as it first seems. There are cost considerations—like the cost of time. Sometimes it costs us sleep! Sometimes it costs our pride. And of course, there are financial costs as well. The decision to share Jesus is multi-layered, but always worthwhile!
The Discovery Mountain team pours a lot of time, effort, and talent into creating content that effectively shares Bible messages with families. On average, each episode costs $3,500 USD to produce, and each mini adventure episode costs $1,250.
